Fun in the windtunnel

The German Aerospace Center, das Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, has uploaded few historical images from boundary layer experiments and the scientists involved in the first experiments. Experimental fluid dynamics can be fun, also for Germans as the following image shows:

Apropos Prandt: Prof. Oertel, the editor of Prandtl’s essentials of Fluid Mechanics, has a bunch of simple to realise fluid related experiments as movie clips for his lectures at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He produced also a documentary in German free for download (662 MB!) about applied fluid mechanics.
